In July, a dedicated team from PPI competed in the charity regatta ‘Rowing Against Cancer’ in Kiel. This event not only pursues a sporting approach, but also supports an important social initiative that benefits cancer patients. The PPI team put in an outstanding performance, finishing second in the expert final.

Together against cancer

The Rowing Against Cancer event serves as a platform to raise funds for sports programmes for cancer patients. The majority of the entry fees go directly towards this worthwhile cause. This mission combines sport and helpfulness, enabling participants to actively support a good cause.

Intensive preparation

Before the race, the rowers took part in numerous training sessions organised in collaboration with the First Kiel Rowing Club of 1862. This preparation was crucial in strengthening team dynamics and strengthening the individual skills of the rowers. Under the guidance of Charlotte, an experienced trainer, the participants were optimally prepared for the race.

An outstanding result

Despite varying levels of rowing experience, the team managed to achieve second place in the expert final with a remarkable team performance. This result is not only a testament to their athletic endeavour, but also a testament to the team spirit and determination of the PPI team. The joy of this success was enhanced by the feeling of actively contributing to the support of cancer patients.
